Summary:

The Product Manager will work with the executive team to set the strategic direction for the product, define the features to be built, explain why they need to be built, and decide in which order they need to be built, and be accountable for the commercial aspect of the product. 

Responsibilities:

  • Create the necessary feedback loop either directly with the customer or through Sales to ensure that customer input is taken into account when both setting the strategic direction for the product and determining the improvements required for the existing features
  • Perform competitive analysis
  • Work with Sales to determine the commercial value of each feature
  • Set the strategic direction for the product
  • Define the features to be built and prioritize the feature backlog maintained by the Product Owner
  • Ensure the Product Owner and the Agile Team understand the value of each feature from the customers’ point of view
  • Meet with potential clients to demonstrate the product’s capabilities
  • Identify important conferences that will help both meeting potential customers and getting potential customers’ input
  • Attend select conferences and deliver presentation to demonstrate the product’s capabilities 

Qualifications: 

  • Have a degree in an analytical field (e.g. Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Management Science)
  • Have 10 years of professional experience in regulated or deregulated retail energy space
  • Have 2 years of professional experience working with an Agile Team
  • Ask the right questions with the purpose of gathering all relevant information
  • Analyze the information that is gathered with the purpose of making the best decision based on the information available
  • Work with cross-functional multi-location teams
  • Communicate effectively (oral and written) with all levels in the organization
