It shall be Innowatts’ policy to protect the privacy of customer information for all customers, without the need for the customer to elect confidentiality. This privacy policy explains Innowatts’ policies for the collection, use and disclosure of personal information of its users. This policy does not apply to practices of companies that Innowatts does not own or control, or to people that Innowatts does not employ or manage.

Information We Collect:

Innowatts collects information when you register with Innowatts, when you use Innowatts Website or Software, and when you visit Innowatts pages or pages of Innowatts partners. Energy Usage/Smart Meter/Electronic Devices Information: Innowatts collects certain information regarding the energy usage and electronic devices that you interface with our platform, as well as information about the model, type and make of those electronic devices and appliances.

Automatically Collected Information: When you access Innowatts Website or mobile application, our servers automatically record information from your browser. This automatically recorded information includes information associated with Your computer and browser, web requests, Internet Protocol address, cookies, browser type, browser language and software and hardware attributes.

How We Use Information

  • Innowatts uses all of the information that it collects from Users to understand and analyze the energy usage trends and
    preferences of Users. Additionally, Innowatts uses the information it collects to contact You, conduct research, and improve its services.
  • Innowatts may share this energy usage data with a variety of third parties, including: its affiliates; current and prospective business partners and utilities that want to create more accurate demand models; state or local governments that want to track energy usage by appliance type; and User demographic and energy auditors that want to benchmark client data.

How do we operate and transfer data as part of providing services to our global clients

Innowatts complies with the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework as set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use, and retention of personal information transferred from the European Union to the United States. Innowatts has certified to the Department of Commerce that it adheres to the Privacy Shield Principles.

Innowatts is a sub-processor of consumption data as received from its utility clients. Besides the consumption data, we typically receive customer zip codes and pseudonymized customer utility meter numbers from the data controller. Our machine learning algorithms create load forecasts and provide product recommendations based on customer consumption data analysis.

  • We do not transfer data onward to third-party controllers or agents, with exception given to cloud service provider, Amazon Web Services (AWS). Under the terms of service with AWS, Innowatts maintains control of any infrastructure, systems, and data on the platform. In cases of onward transfers of data, received pursuant to the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield, Innowatts is potentially liable.
  • Innowatts may share this energy usage data with a variety of third parties, including: its affiliates; current and prospective business partners and utilities that want to create more accurate demand models; state or local governments that want to track energy usage by appliance type; and User demographic and energy auditors that want to benchmark client data.
  • Innowatts Inc. is subject to the investigatory and enforcement powers of the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
  • We disclose account records solely in accordance with our terms of service and applicable law in response to lawful requests by public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements. A valid subpoena issued in connection with an official criminal investigation is required to compel the disclosure of basic customer information which may include: smart meter usage and zip code.
  • Any request to limit the use of the personal data should be directed to the data controller (i.e. local utility) in the geographical location.

Innowatts is a sub-processor of pseudonymized data and any inquiries regarding individual data privacy rights or choices should be directed to the data controller responsible for the individual data. To learn more about the

In compliance with the Privacy Shield Principles, Innowatts commits to resolve complaints about our collection or use of your personal information. EU individuals with inquiries or complaints regarding our Privacy Shield policy should first contact Innowatts at Akhlak@innowatts.com. Innowatts has further committed to refer unresolved Privacy Shield complaints to JAMS, an alternative dispute resolution provider located in the United States. Personal information is stored in a combination of paper and electronic files. It is protected by security measures appropriate to the nature of the information.

Individuals or users may review their personal information contained in Innowatts files by contacting their Innowatts privacy officer. If an individual believes that any of their personal information is inaccurate, we will make appropriate corrections.

Cookies are used by Innowatts for the convenience of users, as users can automatically be authenticated through the use of cookies. A user can also access the Innowatts’ Website with the cookie feature turned off; however, in doing so they may find themselves challenged for username and password information on frequent occasions. Innowatts also uses cookies to track user’s visits and improve the user’s experience.
